Stockport County failed to edge further away from the drop zone after slipping to a 1-0 defeat at home to Stockport County. Julian Joachims header after 67 minutes for the 11/5 Pilgrims proved decisive. Mansfield Town sent Torquay United to the bottom of the league with a 2-0 win at Plainmoor.
