Is Your Life Working or Not Working? THAT is the Question

Author: Robert Paisola

Have you noticed that there are certain areas of your life that consistently don't work?

Do the same self-sabotaging behavior patterns and the same type of upsets keep showing up in your life?

These conditions keep showing up because we keep creating them. Without knowing, we actually create our own suffering. This may sound like a harsh thing to say, but as you read the various sections on this site, you will discover that this is true.

Every one of us has an internal mechanism that forces us to interact in a way that actually destroys love and sabotages our life.

Once you discover this mechanism and learn how it works, you can remove it. The problem areas of your life can then clear up.

Here is how it works:

When you were born, you were pure love, but you were born into a world that suppresses this state. You then got hurt. You experienced rejection, invalidation and painful losses of love.

As a little child, the only way you could explain these painful losses of love was to blame yourself. "Clearly I'm the problem." In a moment of hurt, you decided that you were worthless, not good enough, not worth loving, a failure or some other form of feeling "not okay."

It wasn't the truth that you were this way, but in the eyes of a little child, it became your truth. You then took this a step further and fought the very notion that you created. "Worthless is a horrible way to be. If I really am worthless, I might as well die."

You automatically fought the notion that you created and you fought all the hurt that came with it. From that moment on, the underlying focus of your life would be to avoid this hurt. Unfortunately, you can't avoid it. As long as this suppressed hurt is in you, it's going to get triggered.

The moment this happens, you feel threatened. Instantly you become full of fear and upset. You close down and lose your ability to see clearly. You also get tunnel vision. You get tunnel vision because, subconsciously, the only thing that you are interested in is how to remove this threat.

It's this tunnel vision that sabotages your life.

When you are in this state of tunnel vision, you destroy your ability to see what works. All you can do is fight, resist, hang on or withdraw. This in turn destroys love and creates opposition and resistance against yourself. Almost anything you do in this state makes your situation worse. We'll talk more about this later.

You will soon discover that any area of your life that isn't working is an area where you have tunnel vision. Without knowing, you are operating in a state of fear, upset and resistance. This in turn gives power to whatever you are resisiting. You literally make your situation worse.

Your particular circumstances may seem to be the problem, but they're not. Your circumstances are just a symptom of a deeper problem. The real problem is this underlying condition of resistance.

As long as you focus on the circumstances without addressing this underlying condition, nothing will ever change.

Notice how ineffective you have been in handling the areas of your life where you suffer. Notice that no matter what you do, these areas still don't work. This is because you are focusing in the symptoms instead of the cause.

To have your life clear up, take the focus off of the circumstances and look for the underlying condition that creates the problem. Find the hurt that fuels the resistance.

The process for finding and healing this hurt is relatively simple and very non-confronting. This is because the hurt isn't based on what happened. It's based on certain beliefs you made up as a result of what happened. Once this illusion is exposed, the hurt loses power and you set yourself free.

Once you find and heal this hurt, the areas of your life that don't work automatically begin to clear up. The tunnel vision disappears and so does the fear and upset. You restore your ability to see clearly. You become creative, resourceful and able to discover solutions you could never have seen before.

It is possible to create a life that will exceed your dreams. The steps for creating a life that works are relatively simple, but you have to take them!
