Avoid the Stinger Energy Drink

Author: Patrick Austin

I tried the Stinger energy drink today, and I have to be honest, it was extremely disappointing. The taste is weak, bordering on non-existent, and the energy kick is equivalent to drinking a couple of sodas (i.e. not much kick at all). I consumed the "enraged rasberry" flavor and the only thing that was enraged was me...for wasting my time with this drink.

I'm surprised this beverage is so poor when you consider it was developed by Stacker 2. Their claim to fame is producing fat loss pills that provided a substantial boost of energy in conjunction with weight loss. My thought before drinking it was, "hey, even if it tastes poorly, I should at least get a nice energy enhancement." But alas, that never came.

To compound my disappointment, Stinger is sold in the tiny 8.4 oz containers. After enjoying many 16 oz. and 24 oz. energy drinks, I have a strong disdain for any company that thinks it can get away with selling beverages in these miniscule containers for $2 or more. Only Red Bull can get away with this, but even they are starting to hear the rumblings from consumers to produce a larger-sized beverage.

The exterior has a creative design with a wasp featured prominently in the center (hence, the name Stinger). But even the hippest, new wave outer design can't save the underwhelming flavor and effects of this energy drink.

The Stinger energy drink is one you should avoid. It has the rare combination of bad taste and an absent energy boost.
